Staff Software Engineer, AI

What you will do

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and strategy for the AI platform.
• Design and build agent orchestration, tool systems, prompt management, and integration APIs.
• Develop TypeScript services with Hono, Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, D1, Drizzle, and the Anthropic AI SDK.
• Build scope-aware tools for orders, inventory, and knowledge-base capabilities.
• Design fault-tolerant integrations with downstream Elixir/Phoenix services and support graceful degradation.
• Mentor engineers, establish technical standards, and guide AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of production experience with TypeScript and ownership of large TypeScript codebases.
• Experience designing stateful distributed systems, edge computing solutions, and serverless deployments.
• Production experience building and shipping agentic or LLM-powered features, including prompt engineering, tool calling, and context management.
• Experience with event streaming, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, event-driven architecture, SQL, and databases such as SQLite, D1, or PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare, GCP, or AWS and production observability using OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar tools.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, mentoring, accountability, and ability to guide AI-assisted engineering work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Anthropic Claude, the AI SDK, MCP, or the broader Cloudflare developer platform.
• Knowledge of logistics, e-commerce, or supply chain domains.
• Experience with WebSocket-based real-time systems, multi-tenant systems, or scope-based authorization.
• Open-source contributions in TypeScript or AI projects.
