Engineering Manager (Java)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery and execution across cross-functional teams within the product area.
• Evaluate product and business requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and architectural alignment.
• Translate requirements into EPICs, technical user stories, and actionable delivery plans.
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers to refine and prioritize the backlog.
• Plan sprints, manage milestones and dependencies, monitor team velocity, and optimize resource allocation.
• Guide design decisions, participate in code reviews, and ensure monitoring, alerting, observability, SLIs, and SLOs for owned services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of experience in software development or a similar hands-on technical role.
• 5+ years of experience building production systems with Java and Spring Boot.
• At least 3 years of engineering leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
• Strong backend engineering expertise, Agile delivery experience, and knowledge of sprint planning and backlog management.
• Experience with production debugging, incident response, blameless RCA, CI/CD, release management, project tracking, and engineering metrics.
