Simulation Engineer (Systems Modeling)

Salary: $62,500–$156,000 USD base salary per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain dynamic simulations and simulation infrastructure for complex systems.
• Model operational environments and conduct computer simulation studies to recommend alternative system architectures.
• Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis of system survivability, effectiveness, and performance in engagement and mission-level scenarios.
• Conduct studies to enhance and optimize system performance capabilities.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and document intermediate and final results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of systems engineering or related experience.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Understanding of software development, simulation, dynamics, control theory, and hardware interfaces.
• Ability to reason about software designs from requirements and formulate debugging strategies for complex systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation tools.
• Experience with C/C++ development in Unix/Linux and Windows environments, Linux kernel development, or kernel drivers.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, RS-422, Ethernet, and PTP synchronization protocols.
