Video Journalist (News Broadcasting)

Location: Scotland, North East England, Yorkshire or the East Midlands; candidates must currently be based in one of these regions and have the right to work in the UK. Regular travel is required, including independent field work and location reporting.

What you will do

• Research, develop and pitch original regional and national news stories.
• Arrange and conduct interviews and gather material on location.
• Film and edit television content independently as both journalist and camera operator.
• Report live on breaking news and planned coverage.
• Write, voice and edit television packages and produce articles for the website.
• Create content for social media and collaborate with the London News Desk while managing regional stories independently.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of professional journalism, news broadcasting or comparable experience.
• Currently based in Scotland, North East England, Yorkshire or the East Midlands.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel regularly.
• Experience reporting, researching and producing news stories, including filming and editing personal video content.
• Confidence conducting interviews, working independently on location and responding to breaking news under pressure.
• Right to work in the UK.
