Production Journalist, Features

Location: London; onsite at least three days per week

What you will do

• Produce and edit Opinion, Big Read, Work and Careers, Leaders and Letters content for web and print.
• Write catchy headlines, standfirsts and captions, including punchy print headlines.
• Set up and edit page layouts and support web production across Features sections.
• Liaise with columnists and leader writers while managing a varied editorial workload.
• Join the rota of stand-in Letters editors and work one in five Sundays.
• Develop proposals to improve reader engagement and use data and charts effectively.

Requirements

• Experience or strong ability in meticulous sub-editing, editing, revising and web production.
• Confidence working under deadline pressure with speed, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to write effective headlines, standfirsts and captions.
• Familiarity with Spark, Methode and Slack.
• Confidence using data and charts.
• Basic page layout skills or enthusiasm to learn.
