What you will do
- Represent News as the senior regional representative across the Middle East and North Africa.
- Set and deliver the regional editorial growth strategy and contribute to wider News priorities.
- Oversee commissioning, resources, production, and output across Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and English services.
- Lead local-language editorial and regional operational teams, including coverage of high-risk stories and emergency deployments.
- Manage the regional budget, drive cost efficiencies, and oversee operational performance, safety, and compliance.
- Build partnerships with regional stakeholders, regulators, broadcast and digital partners, and government representatives.
Requirements
- Senior-level editorial and business leadership experience.
- Clear understanding of regional markets and international cultural environments.
- Strong editorial and journalistic knowledge covering commissioning, financing, production, and regulation.
- Experience prioritising and overseeing multiple high-risk stories in a newsroom environment, including breaking news and deployments.
- Ability to develop strategies, make complex decisions, and lead diverse regional teams.
Nice to have
- Fluent Arabic language skills.
- Knowledge of some or all languages served by the region.
