Polymer/Organic Chemist (R&D)

What you will do

• Design and develop polymer and media chemistries for consumable product development.
• Plan and execute experimental programmes, analyse results and use scientific judgement to guide development decisions.
• Troubleshoot complex chemistry and process challenges with R&D and manufacturing colleagues.
• Present findings and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.
• Contribute to new intellectual property and monitor emerging chemistry, technologies and competitor activity.
• Help maintain day-to-day activities and standards within the polymer laboratory.

Requirements

• PhD, MSc or equivalent in Synthetic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in polymerisation, organic or inorganic synthesis, surface chemistry or a closely related area.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to apply chemistry knowledge to practical problems.
• Hands-on laboratory experience, including analysing and interpreting experimental results.
• Clear communication skills for presenting scientific findings and recommendations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of polymer or silica-based chemistry applied to materials or product development.
• Industry or R&D experience in addition to academic training.
