Corporate Research Lab (CRL) Scientist / Engineer - Early Career Program (Composites)

Location: Duxford, United Kingdom; relocation and domestic and international travel required.

What you will do

• Lead or supervise one or more Corporate Research Lab technology projects aligned with future business needs.
• Conduct laboratory research and contribute practical work to achieve project goals.
• Follow laboratory safety best practices and comply with environmental and transportation legislation.
• Review academic papers, patents, conferences, and exhibitions to stay current with composite-materials research.
• Record experimental results in laboratory notebooks and computer systems and prepare technical reports.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD-level expertise in polymeric or composite materials, or relevant experience after a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2:1 in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related subject.
• Ability to analyse test data, draw conclusions, and write concise technical reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Eligibility to work in the country where the position is based.
• Willingness and ability to relocate and travel domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with thermoset chemistry, such as epoxy, cyanate, bismaleimides, or benzoxazine.
• Knowledge or experience in composite materials.
