Material Scientist (Pharmaceutical Materials)

What you will do

• Perform routine and non-routine physical and analytical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, drug substances, and finished products.
• Manage the receipt, storage, dispensing, and disposal of development samples in the Development Store.
• Support the introduction and implementation of new equipment across the functional area.
• Contribute to investigational project teams through protocol feedback, data summaries, and initial data interpretation.
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges, learn new processes, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation and deliver presentations when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of materials science testing for pharmaceutical actives and excipients.
• Strong practical and analytical laboratory skills, with the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot.
• Experience with analytical equipment related to materials science and drug product manufacture is advantageous.
• Knowledge of particle size analysis, morphology, BET surface area testing, powder flow, and microscopy is highly advantageous.
• Good communication, documentation, organisation, planning, data integrity, and quality-system compliance skills.
