Senior Structures Design Engineer, Launch Vehicle Structures (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and develop composite and metallic primary and secondary structures for the Spectrum launch vehicle.
• Develop critical primary structures, interfaces, and adjacent secondary structures, including CAD models, manufacturing drawings, integration drawings, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with Analysis, Production, Assembly and Integration, Testing, Quality, and Avionics teams to deliver qualified structural solutions.
• Define design standards, best practices, documentation, development road maps, and product timelines.
• Prepare design reviews, risk assessments, trade-off studies, requirements, and engineering change requests.
• Review structural designs, resolve production and assembly non-conformities, coordinate with external suppliers, and mentor design engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in aerospace structures design.
• Excellent knowledge of lightweight and composite structures design.
• Good knowledge of carbon composite manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with propellant tank and pressure vessel design.
• Experience in a launch vehicle development program.
• Strong practical experience with SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar CAD software.
• Experience with material qualification and composite manufacturing techniques.
• German language skills and knowledge of current aerospace materials and technologies.
