Spacecraft Thermal Verification Engineer (Aerospace)

The Exploration Company develops aerospace technologies for the future of space transportation, including the Nyx spacecraft program.

What you will do

• Lead spacecraft-level Thermal Vacuum and Thermal Balance verification campaigns across the Nyx program.
• Define test objectives, verification logic, success criteria, test plans, procedures, and operational concepts.
• Lead Test Readiness Reviews, Test Review Boards, NCR investigations, and technical decision-making during testing.
• Coordinate with System Engineering, AIT, test facilities, avionics, propulsion, program, and other subsystem teams.
• Define thermal instrumentation strategies, support hardware installation and troubleshooting, and participate in spacecraft integration and functional testing.
• Analyze thermal test results, assess spacecraft and subsystem performance, deliver verification evidence, and drive closure toward qualification and flight readiness reviews.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, or an equivalent field.
• 10+ years of experience in spacecraft thermal engineering.
• Proven experience leading Thermal Vacuum and Thermal Balance campaigns, spacecraft qualification and acceptance programs, and assembly, integration, and test activities.
• Strong understanding of thermal control systems, including MLI, temperature sensors, heaters, and pumped fluid loops.
• Experience with thermal instrumentation, DAQ systems, test facility interfaces, suppliers, and external test facilities.
• Fluent English required. Experience with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent test-data processing tools is expected.
