Focus on performing emergency interventions, administering medications, documenting care in EPIC, and coordinating with physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel.
Location: Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, 585 Lebanon St, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States. Per diem position with various shifts and a requirement to work one weekend per month.
Pay range: $30.00–$33.59 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do
- Provide advanced emergency medical care, detailed patient assessments, diagnostic testing, treatment, and monitoring.
- Transport and transfer patients using ambulances, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other appropriate equipment while maintaining clinical stability.
- Perform paramedic procedures including intubation, intraosseous access, cardioversion, external pacing, emergency medication administration, IV insertion, and 12-lead EKGs.
- Monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms, follow medical direction and clinical protocols, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Complete patient charts, laboratory and procedure orders, and other documentation in EPIC.
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, EMS personnel, and referring providers.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
- National Registry of EMTs Paramedic certification and Massachusetts Paramedic certification.
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications.
- Valid state-issued driver's license and competence in safe ambulance operations.
- Ability to handle emergency situations, work irregular shifts, and lift, position, push, or transfer patients and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Organizational, analytical, communication, documentation, medical terminology, and hospital computer system skills.
Nice to have
- Associate's degree.
- BLS, ACLS, or PALS instructor certification.
- ICS 200, HAZMAT operations, or TECC training.
- PALS certification and one year of relevant experience.
