Power BI Developer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Remote from the United States, working EST hours

Contract duration: 3 months, with potential extensions based on business needs

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-scale analytics initiatives from strategy through implementation and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Design, develop, and govern Power BI solutions, including semantic models, DAX logic, dashboards, reports, dataflows, datasets, and row-level security.
• Design and optimize complex SQL queries and large-scale data models for high-volume enterprise reporting.
• Build Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions, data pipelines, OneLake storage processes, and Fabric notebooks using Spark transformations.
• Manage deployment pipelines across Development, Test, and Production environments, including workspace governance and capacity management.
• Enable governed self-service analytics and apply data quality, metadata management, and compliance practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy.
• Expert SQL skills, including complex query design, performance optimization, and large-scale data modeling.
• Expert Power BI experience across semantic modeling, DAX, enterprise dashboard architecture, row-level security, dataflows, dataset management, and self-service analytics.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience with Lakehouse and Data Warehouse design, pipelines, Spark-based notebooks, deployment pipelines, and workspace governance.
• Experience engaging senior business and technology stakeholders, building consensus, standardizing KPIs, and leading analytics modernization.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and compliance requirements in fintech, financial services, or another regulated industry.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Looker development experience.
• Direct involvement in a Looker-to-Power BI migration.
