Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Diesel Equipment)

Location: Bettendorf, IA, USA; onsite work maintaining a local fleet and providing road service when necessary

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, engines, braking systems, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic tire work, including replacement, rotation, and tread-depth checks.
• Provide line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Provide safe road service to return company equipment to operation efficiently.
• Complete required company training and related maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience or knowledge with light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 vehicles, or comparable aircraft or ship maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and inspect suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantages but not required.
