Fleet Technician B-A (Diesel/Hydraulic)

Location: New Haven, Indiana; must live within a safe 45-minute driving distance of the Northeast Service Center at 3514 Landin Road. Shift work may be required, and transmission-support technicians may travel 80%–100%.

Salary: Fleet Technician B wages of $33.00–$37.00 per hour; Fleet Technician A wages of $39.00–$43.00 per hour. The stated compensation range is $34.45–$42.79 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair sedans, light, medium, and heavy trucks, trailers, specialized vehicles, and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose and service boom and pedestal assemblies, winches, hydraulic systems, and electric and hydraulic braking systems.
• Repair heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, refrigerant circuits, condensers, and evaporators.
• Service steering, air brakes, transmissions, differentials, power dividers, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and diesel injection systems.
• Operate company vehicles and related equipment, maintain tools and work areas, and complete maintenance records and reports.
• Assist with complex diagnoses, train other employees, report abnormal conditions, and direct assigned support personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of automotive mechanical diagnosis experience, including hydraulic and diesel repair.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of entering the Fleet Technician B classification.
• Must obtain Fluid Power Society Certification and two applicable ASE certifications within 24 months.
• Must qualify through testing and performance evaluation, including successful completion of the Tuff Tech pre-employment placement test.

Nice to have

• Graduation from an automotive trade school with diesel engine experience.
