Design Engineer - Entry Level (Mechanical Design)

Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States. Work is performed in a team-based office environment, with some travel for customer and supplier meetings, training, testing, and industry conferences.

Salary: $64,500–$103,500 per year.

What you will do

• Develop vehicle and product systems from initial concepts through detailed drawings.
• Create parametric CAD concepts and component packaging solutions.
• Apply linear-static Finite Element Analysis to optimize mechanical designs.
• Model system physics and characterize system behavior.
• Design, develop, and report on tests using DVP&R methods.
• Support customers, manufacturing teams, technical specifications, testing procedures, and engineering change requests.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience with parametric 3D modeling and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
• Strong technical writing, verbal communication, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to support technicians and shop builds and operate simple hand tools.
