Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

What you will do

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance and coordinate reactive maintenance.
• Maintain mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire systems, water services, drainage, BMS, generators, UPS, access control, pumps, and mechanical plant.
• Monitor asset performance, investigate faults, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage specialist contractors, permits to work, and service delivery against agreed standards.
• Maintain statutory inspection records, certification, CMMS data, asset registers, and engineering documentation.
• Support refurbishment and minor works projects, commissioning, handover, health and safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in facilities management or building services.
• Experience managing contractors, CMMS systems, and planned and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of building services engineering, HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, fire systems, water systems, emergency lighting, generators, UPS, pumps, and mechanical plant.
• Ability to work with engineering drawings, statutory compliance requirements, and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Professional engineering membership.
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
