CNC Operator - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States. On-site, 2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:45 PM–12:45 AM.

Eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments at 90 and 180 days.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts according to work orders, blueprints, specifications, and machining parameters.
• Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances, calculate machining requirements, and use G-code or conversational programming.
• Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, vices, and trimming heads.
• Perform drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread-chasing operations while measuring parts and maintaining quality standards.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, adjust and reprogram controls, sharpen or replace worn tools, and complete preventive maintenance.
• Document production and quality activities, communicate shift information, and provide operating and inspection instruction to CNC Operator Assistants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience as a CNC Operator Assistant, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, machine setup, tooling, blueprint reading, dimensional measuring equipment, and auxiliary equipment including conventional mills, drill presses, and band saws.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications.
• Basic high-school mathematics, including arithmetic, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person, and in writing.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
