Automation Technician - 2nd Shift (CNC)

Location: Taylor, Texas, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

What you will do

• Set up, program, operate, and maintain advanced 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, and related automated equipment.
• Operate and monitor robotic systems during testing and production, including deployment, setup, and readiness checks.
• Troubleshoot equipment diagnostics, perform machine offsets and minor adjustments, and assist with hardware and peripheral replacements.
• Read engineering drawings, load work-order programs, inspect dimensions, and verify part quality using precision measuring tools.
• Collect operational data, maintain activity logs, monitor output, and escalate complex technical issues to engineering or supervision.
• Train new Machine Operators and maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.

Requirements

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of machining processes, shop safety, 3-axis and 5-axis CNC equipment, G/M codes, toolpaths, feeds and speeds, and machine offsets.
• Familiarity with CAD software workflows and CNC programming concepts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other measuring tools.
• High school graduation; ability to stand, move between workstations, handle repetitive tasks, and lift up to 40–50 pounds regularly.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and commitment to quality and safety.

Nice to have

• Vocational training, machining coursework, or certification in CNC operation, CAM programming, or 5-axis machining technology.
