Group Financial Accountant

Location: Melbourn, United Kingdom; hybrid working with attendance at the office or client site a minimum of 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Contribute to monthly group consolidation, including preparing consolidation journals and reviewing consolidated results.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, variance analysis, commentary and reconciliations.
• Research and apply IFRS guidance to technical accounting matters across the finance function.
• Support the group annual report, including accounting notes and supporting documentation.
• Provide complete and timely responses to auditors, advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Take ownership of assigned entities, deliverables and finance process priorities while maintaining accuracy and control.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, CA or ACCA certification.
• Strong technical accounting skills, including IFRS and accounting research.
• Experience in group reporting, consolidation, month-end, audit support and statutory accounts.
• Ability to understand finance systems and processes quickly and deliver to strict deadlines.
• Strong organisation, communication, attention to detail and financial control skills.
• For roles requiring UK security clearance, applicants must be British citizens or have at least 5 years of continuous UK residency.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with auditors or supporting audit processes.
• Experience coordinating cross-team groups to establish new processes.
