VP, Engineering (Healthcare Technology)

Salary: $187,800–$348,300 per year, plus incentive eligibility

What you will do

• Lead and develop a large, high-performing engineering organization, including engineering directors, managers, and senior technical leaders.
• Define and execute the strategy for secure, scalable, cloud-native enterprise platforms supporting data, AI, security, identity, and shared services.
• Deliver reusable platform capabilities that accelerate product development, improve developer productivity, and support multiple product teams.
• Establish and measure modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps, quality engineering, automation, observability, CI/CD, and SRE.
• Partner with Product Management, Technology Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, Solutions, Security, and other technology functions on strategy, roadmaps, staffing, and solution design.
• Recruit, retain, coach, and develop engineering talent while building leadership capability, succession plans, and training programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including executive leadership of large, multi-level engineering organizations.
• Experience building and scaling enterprise platform engineering organizations that support multiple product teams.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, platform engineering, APIs, data management, AI-enabled platforms, identity, security, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure and working with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks, data integration, and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Hands-on technical leadership experience, including building proofs of concept and contributing to design, architecture, and whiteboarding sessions.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience building enterprise platforms for data, AI, identity, and shared developer capabilities.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering organizations.
