TL;DR
Senior Accountant, GL & AP (Accounting): Owning general ledger accounting for selected group entities, supporting multi-country accounts payable, and rolling out a new invoice processing tool with an accent on statutory reporting, cross-border VAT, and multi-currency accounting. Focus on preparing complex period-end closes, resolving intercompany and reverse-charge issues, and designing, testing, and documenting invoice automation processes.

What you will do
- Own the general ledger for selected group entities, including fixed assets, payroll accounting, accruals, prepayments, and foreign-exchange revaluation.
- Prepare month-end and year-end close inputs, review balance-sheet reconciliations, and analyse income-statement and balance-sheet variances.
- Prepare intercompany calculations and invoices, VAT returns, statutory reporting, financial statements, and audit documentation.
- Support accounts payable across multiple countries, including coding, VAT treatment, approval routing, disputed items, cross-border VAT, and reverse-charge transactions.
- Reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger and investigate unidentified bank postings.
- Own the finance-side rollout of a new invoice-processing tool, covering process design, vendor and GL mapping, validation, testing, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least five years of general ledger accounting experience in an international, multi-entity environment.
- Ability to close a set of entities independently and take over existing processes with limited handover.
- Strong understanding of EU cross-border VAT, reverse charge, and intra-EU acquisitions.
- Experience with multi-country accounts payable, statutory financial statements, external audits, and multi-currency accounting.
- Experience with an ERP system, preferably NetSuite, and strong Excel skills.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; fluent spoken and written English; available at short notice.
