Mechanical Engineer (Quantum Hardware)

Location: Denver, CO, United States

Base salary: $85,000–$105,000 annually for Junior level; $100,000–$140,000 annually for Senior level, plus performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Create complex mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for parts and assemblies using DFX principles.
• Define technical specifications for subsystems and components supporting product development requirements.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve products and processes.
• Own subsystem development and sustaining activities at the Senior level, including project planning, resource planning, requirements gathering, documentation, and ECO execution.
• Support the transition from mechanical concepts to scalable, high-quality products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.
• Junior: 2–3 years of experience in mechanical design; Senior: 4–8 years of experience.
• Proven ability to bring mechanical concepts into physical products.
• Experience with Ansys or equivalent analysis software.
• Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures, with machine shop and fabrication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with product safety standards such as NRTL and CE, especially for Senior-level work.
• Understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product architecture, especially for Senior-level work.
