Staff Software Engineer - Backend (Java)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
• Drive the architectural vision for complex systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, guiding architectural and engineering decisions.
• Develop tailored solutions for high-profile customers whose requirements are not covered by the existing product.
• Research and integrate new technologies, APIs, and AI and ML capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product, GTM, R&D, and external stakeholders across multiple projects and technical stacks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend software development experience with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• 4+ years of experience as a staff or principal engineer leading cross-functional and cross-feature initiatives.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
• Extensive experience developing and maintaining large-scale, cloud-based web applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written English proficiency and availability to work in the hybrid Dublin office model are required.
