ZScaler SME Network Engineer (Zscaler)

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States; hybrid. The role includes scheduled and ad hoc travel within the United States of up to 20%.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, administer, upgrade, and optimize enterprise Zscaler SASE solutions across ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and Zscaler Client Connector.
• Develop and govern URL filtering, cloud application control, SSL/TLS inspection, DLP, sandbox, and least-privilege access policies.
• Support private-cloud and on-premises environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP without traditional VPN dependencies.
• Provide Tier 2–Tier 4 troubleshooting for proxy routing, PAC files, authentication, application latency, outages, and circuit degradation.
• Manage Client Connector lifecycle activities across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android, including distribution, health checks, tuning, and upgrades.
• Configure ZDX analytics, automated alerting, SIEM integrations, identity integrations, documentation, change requests, incident response, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Senior-level network engineering experience with enterprise Zscaler deployments and SASE solutions.
• Experience with ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, Zscaler Client Connector, Zero Trust access policies, and complex network troubleshooting.
• Experience integrating SAML/SCIM with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or Ping Identity.
• Experience with SIEM integrations such as Splunk and Cribl, plus network diagrams, topology maps, inventory databases, SOPs, and ServiceNow or Remedy.
• Ability to support 24/7/365 on-call rotations, Tier 3 critical incidents, SLA-driven escalation, emergency changes, and RCA reporting.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Ashburn, Virginia, travel within the United States up to 20%, and support enterprise DHS infrastructure.
