Senior Category Specialist

Location: Libertyville, Illinois, United States; onsite four days per week

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 yearly

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and execute category plans for assigned spend categories.
• Lead moderately complex sourcing initiatives, including RFx execution, supplier assessments, commercial analysis, negotiations, and implementation.
• Translate stakeholder requirements, budgets, timelines, and risks into sourcing strategies.
• Analyze spend, market, supplier, contract, and total-cost data to identify sourcing and supplier improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate supplier performance reviews, resolve issues, and monitor improvement actions.
• Present category updates, business cases, sourcing recommendations, supplier insights, and project results to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience managing sourcing projects, supplier relationships, contract support, and assigned spend categories.
• Experience preparing analyses, recommendations, business cases, and supplier performance materials.
• Experience in a multi-site, global, or matrixed organization.
• Ability to maintain and analyze data using Excel, SAP, or HRIS systems and manage multiple priorities.
• Must work onsite in Libertyville four days per week.
