TL;DR
Core Engineering Intern (AI) (Python/TypeScript): Building internal tools, manufacturing execution systems, and agentic systems for hardware, manufacturing, and R&D operations with an accent on full-stack engineering, rapid 0-to-1 delivery, and AI tooling. Focus on deploying production-level code, evaluating frontier AI systems, and solving ambiguous, time-sensitive engineering problems.
Location: On-site at the office in San Jose, California, United States
Salary: Paid 12-week internship, June–August 2026

builds hardware and software infrastructure for frontier AI inference, including custom chips, racks, and manufacturing systems.
What you will do
- Identify critical gaps across the organization and build solutions from 0 to 1.
- Develop internal tools that unblock hardware and engineering teams.
- Prototype systems for manufacturing execution and operational workflows.
- Design, evaluate, and deploy agentic systems for challenging R&D problems.
- Own a real project through production delivery and help shape how the organization executes.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack engineering capabilities and product sense.
- Comfort with Python and TypeScript, including reading, modifying, debugging, and shipping reliable code.
- Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems across unfamiliar stacks and domains.
- Experience building a project that can be explained in depth.
- Bias toward action, personal accountability, and comfort with incomplete information.
- Ability to work on-site in San Jose, California, United States.
Nice to have
- Data engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or enterprise operational systems experience.
- Experience evaluating and improving frontier AI systems with an eval-driven approach.
- Prior startup experience, especially in a hyper-growth environment.
