Full Stack Engineer (Python/React)

Location: Remote, with preference for candidates within commuting distance of offices in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York City.

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 base salary annually, excluding equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and ship Python backend services that transform model outputs into budget recommendations with strong correctness and observability.
• Build React screens for customers to review, edit, and approve recommendations.
• Integrate Architect with the hirify.global platform by defining API contracts and handling failure modes.
• Collaborate with product, science, design, and engineering teams to scope and deliver product functionality.
• Improve code quality through testing, monitoring, and maintainable refactoring.
• Use AI coding tools and clearly verify their generated output.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications and APIs.
• Strong Python backend engineering experience and working proficiency with React.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and data-heavy applications.
• Knowledge of cloud-native environments, deployment, monitoring, and production operations; GCP experience is preferred.
• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar, with a clear approach to validating results.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to scientists, product managers, and engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with ad platform APIs such as Meta Marketing API or Google Ads API, or with experimentation platforms.
• Experience shipping optimization or recommendation systems.
• Earlier-stage startup experience.
• Experience with Flask, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, or similar technologies.
