Software Engineering Intern (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; Summer 2027 internship with a May or June start.

What you will do

• Build reinforcement learning and post-training data pipelines for frontier model development.
• Develop evaluation infrastructure for measuring model reliability for enterprise and public-sector customers.
• Ship agentic AI applications and tooling that makes them observable, testable, and safe to deploy.
• Build fraud-detection, quality-estimation, and contributor-to-customer matching systems at scale.
• Develop efficient UI/UX tooling combined with machine learning algorithms for large-scale contributor workflows.
• Create AI infrastructure products for visualizing, querying, and exploring Scale data.

Requirements

• Graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, EECS, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Availability for a Summer 2027 internship in San Francisco, beginning in May or June.
• Product engineering experience, including building full-stack web applications, integrating APIs and services, interacting with customers, and iterating on products.
• Previous Computer Science or Software Engineering internship experience and a record of shipping high-quality products and features.
• Experience building systems that process large volumes of data.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, and/or MongoDB.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, evaluations, or agentic systems through coursework, research, or personal projects.
• Open-source contributions or a portfolio of shipped side projects.
