HMI/Desktop Applications Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Bingen, WA, United States; 80% onsite

Salary: $116,000–$178,000 per year

Aerospace software development for the Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor small tactical unmanned aerial system and its ground-control applications.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain C++/C# desktop applications used by operators to control ground and aircraft systems.
• Implement UI/UX features that make telemetry, network health, sensor data, and other system information clear and actionable.
• Debug and resolve application issues reported by internal users and operators.
• Write unit and integration tests to improve application reliability.
• Collaborate with systems, network, and embedded engineers to integrate data feeds into the application layer.
• Participate in code reviews and document application features, known issues, and usage guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least six months of C++ and/or C# programming experience through coursework or personal or academic projects.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming, application debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Experience building a functioning application and translating functional requirements into working features.
• Ability to document code and application behavior and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and operators.
• Must be a US Person under the ITAR definition and have current US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with WPF, WinForms, MFC, or similar Windows desktop application frameworks.
• Coursework or projects involving UI/UX design, human-computer interaction, graphical interfaces, or data visualization.
• Exposure to real-time or data-driven applications, multithreaded or event-driven programming, and telemetry libraries.
• Experience gathering and interpreting operator feedback or working through ambiguous requirements with guidance.
