Technician (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Richmond, Virginia and various jobsites in the United States; onsite work at maintenance shops and jobsites. Start time is 6:00 AM; overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.

Salary: $20.00–$35.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Diagnose vehicle and equipment failures and report issues to the Fleet Manager.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, cranes, and diesel trucks.
• Test-drive and operate vehicles and equipment to verify proper working condition.
• Inspect fleet equipment during check-in and check-out and correct deficiencies.
• Order and track parts, maintain repair records, daily logs, safety reports, inspection reports, and project reports.
• Keep work areas organized, support project-related manual labor, and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a technician working with heavy equipment, cranes, or diesel trucks.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents during the last seven years.
• Own tools adequate to perform the job.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access is preferred.
