Master Laboratory Technician (Product Development)

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States, at least four days per week. May include up to 5% domestic travel. Relocation may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $75,064–$91,745 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product developers, engineers, and technicians to develop innovative abrasives and conduct product and prototype testing.
• Design and perform experiments to determine effective test methods and procedures.
• Obtain laboratory samples, evaluate results, and communicate project status and findings through technical documentation.
• Prioritize and conduct complex tests with minimal supervision while maintaining laboratory records and intellectual property documentation.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory, including ordering testing supplies and implementing process improvements.
• Follow and develop standard operating procedures and process documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, verified before starting.
• At least five years of laboratory experience in an academic, private, public, government, or military environment.
• Ability to work on-site at the Maplewood, Minnesota location at least four days per week.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Ability to follow safety, compliance, corporate, and environmental health and safety requirements.

Nice to have

• Completed associate degree.
• Seven years of laboratory experience and prior industry experience in new technology or product development.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and processes.
• Familiarity with design of experiments, statistical analysis, and test method development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
