Process Controls Engineer (PLC)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, USA; onsite

What you will do

• Lead plant automation, process control systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, PID control loop, and VFD systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and process control issues to improve plant reliability and operational performance.
• Lead and support capital projects, including control system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
• Manage process control systems, data historians, control networks, and plant-wide control strategies.
• Investigate process control incidents and implement corrective actions supporting safety, quality, cost, and production goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience in automation, process control, or electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control system architecture, and process control principles.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming, preferably Rockwell, HMI configuration, and process control troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, technical documentation, and control logic diagrams.
• Availability to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-hazard, food, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management elements, including PHA and MOC.
• Experience standardizing or optimizing plant-wide automation and control systems.
