Process Controls Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania or LaPorte, Texas, United States. The role requires 20%–40% travel, mainly across the United States and Canada, plus participation in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.

What you will do

• Support instrumentation and process control systems for new and existing industrial gas facilities across North and South America.
• Troubleshoot urgent operational issues involving process instrumentation, DCS and PLC control logic, control panels, and engineering and operator control stations.
• Implement improvement projects safely with multidisciplinary engineering and site operations teams.
• Support maintenance outages, preventive maintenance activities, productivity modifications, and obsolete equipment upgrades.
• Improve and optimize existing assets while addressing instrumentation and process control system obsolescence.
• Provide rotating 24/7/365 on-call support for operating facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of automation systems, control panels, and field instrumentation.
• Strong communication skills for technical investigation, troubleshooting, and presentations to engineering and site operations teams.
• Ability to travel 20%–40%, mainly within the United States and Canada, and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and successful completion of pre-employment and random drug testing are required for this safety-sensitive position.
