hirify.global is partnering with Patented Housing Ltd on a 36-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership focused on advanced manufacturing and digitalised prefabrication for low-cost housing.

What you will do

• Develop and validate simulation models that replicate dynamic prefabricated construction sites.
• Identify process inefficiencies and safety risks, and develop design mitigation strategies aligned with industry standards.
• Design task allocation strategies to improve safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability.
• Collaborate with academic and industry stakeholders to refine models, strategies, and project outputs.
• Publish research findings, prepare industry reports, and lead project workshops.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Construction, or a related discipline.
• Experience modelling, simulating, and optimising industrial workflows and processes, particularly in advanced manufacturing or prefabricated construction.
• Proficiency in systems design and optimisation, programming, and practical implementation.
• Strong knowledge of simulation methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence in advanced manufacturing.
• Understanding of organisational psychology in advanced manufacturing and prefabricated construction.
• Knowledge of construction workflows, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Experience with IoT devices, digital twins, and sensors for construction manufacturing applications.
• Experience mentoring or supervising workers, junior researchers, or students.
