Wireless Engineer (Short Range Devices)

Location: Bucharest, Romania. Hybrid work with most office-based roles onsite three days per week; occasional travel may be required.

Salary: RON 202,500–297,000 gross annually.

What you will do

• Support the development and integration of short-range wireless technologies, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, NFC, and RFID.
• Contribute to wireless system development across multiple automotive projects.
• Perform RF measurements, debugging, performance analysis, testing, and validation in laboratory and development environments.
• Analyze and troubleshoot wireless communication issues and support root-cause investigations.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, testing, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, RF engineering, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF and high-frequency engineering, signal processing, analog and digital electronics, and laboratory measurement techniques.
• Understanding of digital interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, and USB.
• Familiarity with RF measurement equipment and analytical or scripting tools such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and shell scripting, technical documentation, and hands-on laboratory work.
• Working knowledge of English and a valid driver’s license are required.

• Professional experience in wireless engineering, RF system development, or short-range communication technologies.
• Experience with RF optimization, wireless standards, validation processes, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience managing technical tasks independently and supporting junior engineers.
• Experience collaborating with teams across different geographies.
