Operations Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, UK. Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and successfully complete the required level of UK National Security Vetting.

What you will do

• Manage Cheltenham shop-floor operations and resources to achieve safety, quality, cost, delivery, manufacturing volume, and profit-plan targets.
• Lead production managers and support workforce planning, recruitment, appraisal, training, and organisational capability development.
• Coordinate production programmes and operational projects aligned with plant and divisional objectives.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Eaton improvement systems, process verification, throughput, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Set and monitor value-stream goals, operational strategy, capital and expense budgets, and manufacturing performance.
• Maintain safe facilities, equipment, quality controls, ethical standards, and a high-morale working environment.

Requirements

• Multiple years of relevant professional and supervisory or managerial experience.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, materials planning, and order-generation processes.
• Understanding of supply-chain operations, including production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping and receiving.
• Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement techniques and leading change.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Strategic planning, business acumen, customer and commercial awareness, and the ability to lead cross-functional improvement teams.
