Optical Sensor Design Engineer (Optical Alignment)

Location: On-site in Wilton, Connecticut, United States; a flexible workplace arrangement may be available for eligible roles for up to two days per week remotely.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, align, and integrate optical alignment sensor systems.
• Develop imaging, detector, fiber-optic, and other optical systems.
• Analyze test data to evaluate sensor performance and identify technical issues.
• Lead root-cause investigations, complex testing, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop, test, and improve signal-processing algorithms and analysis methods.
• Coordinate technical work across software, electronics, manufacturing, and equipment engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, optics, optical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least two years of relevant engineering experience, including applicable graduate research.
• Hands-on experience building, testing, aligning, or troubleshooting optical systems.
• Experience using MATLAB for data processing, analysis, or algorithm development.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Must work on-site in Wilton and be legally authorized to access United States-controlled technology before starting.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related technical field.
• Experience with Python or LabVIEW.
