HFT Engineer (Crypto Trading)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands, with remote work available; relocation possible

Building a high-performance trading system that initially targets crypto spot and perpetual markets before expanding to traditional markets.

What you will do

• Design and implement the core trading engine, including the event loop, scheduling, and execution flow.
• Define internal data models for order books, trades, positions, and state transitions.
• Build execution systems covering order lifecycle management, smart order routing, risk checks, and position tracking.
• Develop real-time risk controls, including pre-trade checks, exposure limits, kill switches, and capital allocation constraints.
• Build treasury and fund-routing logic for venue distribution, internal netting, collateral management, and account transfers.
• Optimize latency and throughput while ensuring state consistency under high load and partial failures.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building complex trading or execution systems.
• Strong understanding of deterministic behavior, low-latency execution, and correctness under real-world constraints.
• Ability to optimize critical paths involving CPU cache, memory layout, and branch prediction.
• Experience collaborating with market-connectivity and quantitative research teams.
• Ability to work from Amsterdam or remotely; relocation to Amsterdam is possible.
