Sr SAP Basis Engineer (SAP)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; US citizenship required

Base salary: $120,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Deliver and oversee technical support for client SAP landscapes and satellite systems.
• Plan and schedule client maintenance, upgrades, migrations, landscape refreshes, and other technical activities.
• Administer SAP environments, including performance management, patching, database backup and recovery, high availability, and problem management.
• Act as the primary technical delivery contact for assigned client accounts and collaborate with client technical teams.
• Perform root cause analysis, maintain operational documentation, and drive improvements with delivery and development teams.
• Execute projects, report on progress, and train and mentor new team members.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to work within the United States
• 8–10 years of hands-on SAP Basis engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a service provider or advanced IT organization operating in a 24x7 environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience administering SAP HANA and SAP Sybase databases.
• Understanding of SAP security principles and experience with configuration management and automation tools.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, ownership, deadline-management, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible.
• Familiarity with agile engineering practices, including Kanban and continuous delivery.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Experience using AWS and Azure services in commercial or government cloud environments.
• Development experience with Python or Java.
