What you will do

• Set the technical strategy and roadmap for fault detection and fallback systems supporting driverless operation.
• Define behavioral scope, operating envelopes, system interfaces, and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Design and train fault detection mechanisms using evidence-based methods.
• Collaborate with machine learning, inference optimization, and software engineering specialists.
• Lead integration into the shared driving stack and align technical decisions across teams.
• Improve overall robot-system robustness through architecture reviews, mentoring, and clear communication of risks and trade-offs.

Requirements

• Practical experience developing, implementing, and troubleshooting robotics solutions.
• Staff-level technical leadership across ambiguous programs, multiple teams, research, and production deployment.
• Strong technical judgment and communication, including safety-relevant trade-offs and evidence-based decision-making.
• Experience with Python and C++ for robotics.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying and maintaining fleets of robots or vehicles in real-world conditions.
• Experience developing data collection, triage, and debugging tools for robotic systems.
• Experience with cloud monitoring for large-scale fleets, including dashboards, logging, and real-time alerts.
• Knowledge of embedded and real-time systems for safety-critical applications.
• Experience with machine learning and inference optimization.
