Senior Automation Design Engineer (OT Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Support automation design from early concept through detailed delivery across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain secure, scalable automation architectures and improve OT networking solutions.
• Review consultant designs, provide technical guidance and support automation standards, governance and innovation.
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues on live sites and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across EMEA.
• Produce technical documentation and design deliverables, including control system architectures, network diagrams, IO lists and cable schedules.
• Develop and test PLC and SCADA code libraries.

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience in industrial automation, critical infrastructure, data centres, systems integration or engineering consultancy.
• Experience with SCADA platforms and PLC platforms such as Rockwell ControlLogix or CompactLogix.
• Knowledge of industrial automation design, control systems, EPMS or power monitoring systems.
• Understanding of OT networking and cybersecurity, including VLANs, routing, redundancy, industrial firewalls and IEC 62443 principles.
• Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP, MQTT, OPC, Purdue Model, CPwE and DMZ network design.
• Strong technical documentation, communication, organisation and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Ignition SCADA experience.
• Cisco or Fortinet certifications such as CCNP or NSE.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation, Windows or Linux server infrastructure, and cloud integration in OT environments.
• Experience with E-Plan or AutoCAD Electrical control panel design.
