AI Enablement Engineer

Location: Fully remote, limited to Ireland, the UK, and Northern Ireland

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for AI Enablement and establish engineering patterns and standards.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities across business functions and lead initiatives from discovery through production.
• Build AI-powered tools, agents, automations, and conventional software using pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions.
• Deliver scalable, secure, observable, reliable, and maintainable production systems.
• Measure engineering, tooling, model costs, and business value to guide investment and prioritization.
• Develop reusable capabilities and governance while mentoring teams and raising AI engineering effectiveness.

Requirements

• Staff-level engineering experience, preferably with 10+ years designing, building, and operating complex production software.
• Practical experience with modern AI, including AI-powered products, internal AI tooling, or production LLM applications.
• Strong software engineering and architecture fundamentals across APIs, integrations, cloud infrastructure, security, scalability, observability, and reliability.
• Experience leading complex initiatives across teams or functions and delivering measurable outcomes autonomously.
• Strong product, commercial, and strategic judgment, including build-versus-buy, governance, security, quality, and cost decisions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI enablement tools, agentic systems, evaluation and orchestration capabilities, or AI governance.
• Experience managing AI tooling and model spend.
