Lead Operator Logistics

Location: Low Moor, Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Onsite role working 06:30–18:30 on a rolling 3-on, 3-off schedule, including bank holidays and weekends.

What you will do

• Lead shift operations and ensure production targets, quality requirements, and safety standards are met.
• Act as Incident Controller, Main Controller, or Liaison Officer under the Site Emergency Plan.
• Issue hot work and general permits, conduct hazard assessments, and enforce EHS policies.
• Coordinate product flow, stock allocation, vehicle movements, and warehouse interfaces.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot plant and process issues, and maintain accurate shift documentation.
• Drive improvements in safety, process reliability, housekeeping, Lean, and 5S practices.

Requirements

• Experience in chemical manufacturing or hazardous process environments.
• Strong understanding of EHS regulations, COMAH, DVSA/HGV standards, and chemical logistics.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support operational teams.
• Strong situational awareness, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and respond quickly during emergencies.
• Commitment to safety, efficiency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
