Senior Software Engineer, AI Agentic Experience (Auth0)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; or New York, New York

Salary: $147,000–$202,000 annual base salary, with equity where applicable, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build developer tooling for securing and managing infrastructure such as MCP servers.
• Build demo applications showcasing secure, identity-powered AI use cases.
• Develop adapters, utilities, and interfaces for AI agent runtimes, orchestration layers, and emerging AI frameworks.
• Contribute to open-source projects and create API references, quickstarts, best practices, and AI-native documentation.
• Collaborate with design, product, and security stakeholders on developer needs, roadmap direction, and compliance requirements.
• Lead architectural discussions, mentor engineers, and ensure resilience and security in agent-to-agent and model-to-service communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python, with the ability to work across frontend and backend contexts.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems, including OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Experience leading architecture and design efforts for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to open-source projects and developer communities.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, FastAPI, Token Vault, Async Authorization, or Fine-Grained Authorization.
• Passion for documentation as part of the developer experience.
