Working Student (d/f/m) in the Area of Flight Dynamics (Python)

Location: Manching, Germany; work is usually performed on the company's premises, with mobile working possible by agreement.

What you will do

• Assess the scope, code, existing tests, and required test coverage for Flight Dynamics software tools.
• Review Jira requirements, clarify unclear formulations, and define the testing scope.
• Select requirements for weekly testing and implement automated test cases, including edge cases and valid and invalid user handling.
• Integrate test cases into the Jenkins continuous integration pipeline, execute the pipeline, and review results.
• Document test results, limitations, bugs, and improvement opportunities in the tool documentation.
• Review implemented tests, discuss improvements, and provide weekly deliverables.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full time at a university or higher-education institution in computer science, data science, informatics, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience with at least one of Java 1.8 and JUnit 4/5, MATLAB R2024b and testsuite, or Python 3.12 and pytest.
• Extensive experience setting up continuous integration pipelines in Jenkins.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, and Atlassian tools including Confluence and Jira.
• Knowledge of SLURM, Linux, Microsoft Word, and LaTeX.
• Advanced English required; German is a plus. Self-organized and team-oriented working style expected.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Flight Dynamics, such as nonlinear simulation.
• Knowledge of database structures such as SQLite and large-data storage formats such as HDF5 or Parquet.
• German language skills.
