Senior Engineer (Elixir/Phoenix)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work from the Shoreditch/Liverpool Street office.

What you will do

• Build and scale the core API powering millions of travel bookings.
• Design integrations with a large number of travel providers with different systems and requirements.
• Define product and technical direction for ambiguous problems and cross-team decisions.
• Balance technical rigor with business impact and consider system-wide consequences of architectural decisions.
• Write production code hands-on and set a high standard for engineering quality.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience designing and shipping APIs at scale.
• Ability to turn loosely defined problems into clear technical plans and work independently.
• Strong systems thinking and understanding of how decisions affect other parts of the stack.
• Willingness to remain hands-on with production code as a senior engineer.
• Experience mentoring engineers and communicating clearly across different stakeholder groups.
• Specific experience with Elixir, Phoenix, Kubernetes, or Google Cloud Platform is useful, but strong engineering fundamentals are valued more highly.

• Experience in travel, flights, hotels, or car rental.
