Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Hybrid in Shenzhen, China

A fintech company using AI and Open Banking data to provide fairer personal finance and consumer lending products.

What you will do

• Develop backend features and services across the lending lifecycle, from customer onboarding and affordability assessment to loan payout and collections.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including solution design, code reviews, testing, and deployment coordination.
• Own part of the platform and ensure the reliable operation of related business processes and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and internal and external users to define, challenge, and refine requirements.
• Provide second-line support during business hours and troubleshoot customer-impacting issues.
• Support junior engineers through pull-request reviews and pairing, while improving PostgreSQL performance.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading significant new functionality from development through delivery and maintaining business-critical systems.
• Strong proficiency in well-structured asynchronous Python with type hints and unit tests.
• Strong SQL skills, Git proficiency, and basic cloud infrastructure knowledge with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in both Chinese and English is essential.
