Product-Focused Data Scientist (LLM Products)

Location: Remote or New York City; candidates must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 annually

What you will do

• Work with political strategists to understand their workflows and identify how AI can improve their work.
• Translate user needs into product decisions and workflows involving humans and AI agents.
• Define standards for rigor, accuracy, grounding, and usefulness in AI systems.
• Design evaluation datasets and LLM-as-judge systems for LLM-powered features.
• Prototype product ideas quickly using coding agents before committing to development.
• Communicate findings and tradeoffs to engineers, product managers, nontechnical stakeholders, and clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a data scientist or applied statistician.
• Experience shipping features or products, not only producing analyses.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and standard statistical and machine learning tools.
• Hands-on experience evaluating or building on top of LLMs, including evaluation sets, LLM-as-judge pipelines, and embeddings.
• Strong product judgment and clear written and verbal communication.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the United States.

Nice to have

• Prior political or civic-tech experience.
• Interest in learning about the progressive political ecosystem.
