Summer 2027 - Embedded Software Engineering Internship (C/C++)

What you will do

• Design embedded software for satellite communication systems.
• Develop low-level and high-level software for space electronics products.
• Program microcontrollers and develop low-level drivers, board support packages, end-use applications, and user interfaces.
• Collaborate with hirify.global engineers in a cross-functional engineering environment.
• Present project work to peers, mentors, and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Must be eligible under U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or other protected individual, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering at an accredited university.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher and advanced coursework in embedded systems.
• Programming experience in C or C++.
• Familiarity with software configuration management, defect tracking, and peer review.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Embedded systems development with real-time Linux or preemptive multitasking real-time operating systems.
• Understanding of multithreaded applications and resource management.
• Knowledge of real-time coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
• Experience with military, aerospace, or automotive products.
• Ability to read electronics schematics and component data sheets.
